Excellent education resource

the deliberate dumbing down of america by Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt (of midcoast Maine). It is a huge compilation of well documented evidence concerning our system of education, and why it is, and has been (deliberately) failing our students of all ages. The author worked in the US Dept. of Education during the Reagan administration, has been director of a Maine school board, has traveled to Europe, Asia, and Africa, and is a speaker and free lance writer. I believe this book is still available in paperback, too. If you have trouble finding a copy, I do have one but would prefer not to lend this (signed) hardcover out, if others are available.
